Ok, now I've read alot about chicken poo, and have a good wormery established.. so I was wondering if anyone here composted the chicken poo in their wormery?

 

Some ppl think that the nitrogen is too much for the worms, but surely as my birds are eating bokashi, and I do also use bokashi in the wormery.. anyone any thoughts?

 

I could also leave the chicken poo in a bokashi bin for a week and then give it to the worms.. hmm?

 

Thing is, now I have the chickens, and I also have rabbits, all the s"Ooops, word censored!"s seem to be accounted for ... poor worms

You can certainly add chicken poo to the wormery, but I'd mix it with other stuff rather than jusy having the poo on it.

I give my worms poo,bedding, any left overs from the chickens (left overs!!!!) they do leave cabbage stalks and other bits & bobs sometimes, and anything the chooks cannot eat such as avacado skins and raw potatoe peelings onion skins

ahh brilliant!, now do you put the poo straight in when you clean out or do you leave it else where first to mulch down a little bit?

I put it straight in mixed with bedding/shredded paper

I share the poo and Aubiose mix between the wormery and the compost.
