chocchick
After a week of failing to tempt the chickens out with pearl barley the chickens were fighting to get out today as normal. The snow has melted a bit! Now they're hoovering up the pearly barley that was further into the snow yesterday. Yesterday I sprinkled food in front of the run and Katy * just stood on the aubiose, looked at the snow around her feet and gave it a dirty look clearly saying "you can't expect me to walk on that!" I've been hand feeding her treats (sucker ) as she refused to venture out far and stretched as far as she could from the aubiose. Today they look like caged creatures which I'm imprisoning against their will. *Once won "sunniest chicken" on an omlet photo competition P.S. Abbie (who I posted about as she was very bald) is fully fat and feathered again and had a crop the size of my hand the other evening Edited February 13, 2009 by Guest

atsw
My lot all came out at full high speed this morning as soon as they realised that most of the snow had, at long last, gone. Especially as it snowed about 5:00pm last night, just as they were putting themselves to bed, I guess they were expecting the worst when I opened the door this morning! The Dogmother
Mine were up the top of the garden near the house for the first time in a week - there's still snow though, just less of it now.
