I am a chicken novice planning to get a cube (i think), but wonder if the run would be easy to clean. In summer I could move it about the lawn, but in winter I suppose it will have to go on the paving slabs with some sort of chips/bark/bedding.

Do Cube Owners find the run is easy to clean? I have to say that one of the reasons I have been considering wooden housing is that some styles have enough headroom in the run for an adult to walk in to clean it. Or, do you take the run to bits?

Thanks to the experienced omleteers for your tips which would be appreciated.

You can take the end off but its easy to do the door conversion then you can step in and out. The end piece is in half above the door so you make that into a hinge and secure the lower half's side with extra clips and just use a few to hold the top up. There's a sticky at the top of chicken section I think or it may be this one that gives pictures and instructions.

You need to order an extra run frame - about £20 and some extra clips.

Otherwise, yes the run would be a swine to clean unless you have small chimney sweep type children

Sorry to say this but you will always be tinkering with changes here and there.
