i have just sent an email to our locl poultry supplier saying that we want to reserve 2 columbine's and i am so happy but the collection date 20th of march but at least i will be getting them

 

if anyone has any of them could they please post pictures as the pictures on the website is rubbish and i have will have enogh money to buy them myself as this week i have made £23 on selling my eggs

Are you getting them from Southmead Poultry? I got one from there in January and saw the Feb and March chicks under a lamp in one of the buildings - maybe yours were there??!!!

Here are some pictures of my Skyline:

 

They vary quite a lot in appearance. My one was the last one left in peachy-beige - the others were all a more red-brown.

She is very 'skittish'. When I let her out to free-range she occasionally does a little dance-about and gives herself and all the other chickens a fright! I read in a book that Aracaunas (of which Skylines are a hybrid) are very good at keeping a lookout for danger. I thought of this today when I let the chickens out for half an hour when I got home at five o'clock. Juno, my Skyline came out and had a quick run around, and then was making quite a noise and had disappeared back into the run. It occured to me that she was 'upset' because it was dusk, and dusk is bedtime, and she didn't like the others being out and about when they should have been going to bed!

yes as its he only place around us that sell a good variety of birds and in november tracy [the woman whos runs it ] said that i could co down to help which i think i will in the summer

I think the skyline/columbines are a great choice and lovely as you get a good chance of getting blue/green eggs.
