poachedegg
Had spaghetti bolognaise tonight, however the bag I got from the freezer was supposed to be steak not bolognaise - to prevent any more surprises can you recommend the best way of labelling freezer bags? Thanks
Phoebe
felt tip pen (for freezers) and little labels from lakeland work for me. or biro on bags with white "label" bits on
bluekarin
I usually get the freezer bags with the white panel on them and write on it with biro. Or if its something I have taken out of its enormous amount of packaging and put in a freezer bag (otherwise I wouldn't be able to get everything in) then I cut up the cooking instruction label and put that inside the bag. Cinnamon
You need to use a Sharpie - they work brilliantly on plastic bags & on Lock & Lock too Most newsagents sell them, but make sure its a proper Sharpie, not just a normal marker pen. poachedegg
Thanks guys - have just ordered a couple of sharpie markers from ebay. Though I was thinking, the surprise element of not knowing what you're having until its defrosted could be fun!
chickencam
I once made a lasagne with frozen chilli instead of bolognese sauce. It was tasy if a little strange, unfortunately ED had a friend over for tea to compound the shame I also defrosted some stock to make soup only to find out that it was soup after all
