Worming products

The ordinary **Flubenvet** works out far cheaper in the long run Aaron.

If given according to the manufacturers instructions, 1 tsp powder to 4 kg feed. This ratio to be fed over 7 days. If you have some left over at the end of the 7 day, discard it.

Give very little in the way of treats during the course, so that they eat predominantly the medicated pellets.

If you have just a few hens, you could mix 1/2 tsp with 2 kg food.

Edited to add oblique stroke instead of . to above sentence. :D

aaron...if you could get a lift, the shop at west auckland in county durham has flubenvet (i listed it in the WIKI)...but it would seem much better to get in via the internet...as I think it would be a bit of a hike for you...

(they had the smaller poultry version in stock last time i was there)

Wow, that's gone up in price quickly! I got mine on-line from ChemistDirect at the start of February, and it only cost £13.20 plus £2.95 postage for a 240g tub.

I've just completed a 7-day course for my girls using 'the grape method' to administer the treatment. Can anyone tell me when I need to do another cycle?

Hi, I got mine on-line from SPR Centre for £17.22. You mix 6g (1 teaspoon) with 2Kg of mash. [Easier to do the grape method], but they also now have a 20KG bag of layers pellets with Flubenvet incorporated at the appropriate amount, so no mixing or measuring for £10.50

Best to worm 3 times a year, but if you suspect that they already have worms, then re-treat with another 7 day course after three weeks.

I agree with Andrew that prices seem to have gone up very quickly. I've just completed a 7 day treatment for my girls, using my purchase from ChemistDirect. :o I'm sure that I paid around £13 for the tub and also got 5% discount for an online discount code as well. Why the recent price increase :?:
