Dog pestering

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am having exactly the same problem as you. Our chickens came yesterday and one of my JRTs is doing exactly the same as your Yorkie however, things are improving gradually - my kitchen door is open at the moment and the dog is lying in his basket with full view of the chickens. I have been taking him on a lead round the run using the "leave it" comand and praising him every time he looks at me and not the chickens. He now does come away from the run although I am letting him look at the chickens provided he doesn't lurch at the wire. I am sure that things will calm down in the end. Luckily the chickens do not seem at all worried about him

well my dog has gone in reverse.... we had our eglu at back if garden and had omlet fencing to keep them secured within an area when i let them out of their run - the 4 of them would

jump the fence and mooch around the garden. Our lab ignored them and they ignored them... sometimes if they were spooked and ran, our lab would get up and run after them but was soon stopped by the peck of our ginger chick...... 2 weeks ago our walkin structure

was finished and now our lab just runs around and around freaking them our..... she also

mouth's the wire and barks. Even when i grab her and tell her off she carries on.... now our

new pup just follows....
