Guest Posted March 27, 2009 Share Posted March 27, 2009 oh poor Katie, she sounds like she's deteriorating you might be able to get citricidal from your chemist but you have to mix it with water and if she won't drink you might have to help her or you could mix a little bit with whatever food she will. I can't remember, is your vet used to dealing with chickens? If so, I'd give them a ring to see what they say, if not then try and find one that is. sandyhas3chucks Posted March 27, 2009 Share Posted March 27, 2009 I thoik how long depends on what ails them. you need to get some food into her as well as water. you could try the wetabix very very sloppy assuggested on here, mine don't like it. ready brek complan. somehing called nourish em. from pet shop, but really sounds like she needs medication, rathr quickly. have you rung retfords to see if they can test? dehydration will see them poorly very quickly having been researching for my girl ther seems to be one heck of lot of bacteria that is resistant to ......Baytril. I would go back to a vet and get something else. My girls test show that Amoxycilin Apramysin doxcycycline Spyramysin & colistin would wotk on her particular bacteria but Baytril inefective. GKH Posted April 1, 2009 Author Share Posted April 1, 2009 Eastenders update on Katie She is looking alot better i am so pleased with her i didn't want to post anything in case i jinxed her. She is back in with her mates (who are both well) and she is eating a little better (not the same gusto as before) but who cares ! So thats one in the eye for the vet who wanted to put her to sleep thanks for all the support guys PS i've got a new job !!!! yeah !
