I'm hoping to replace my lovely Delilah (RIP) with a frizzle pekin, but can't seem to track one down I'm in the midlands, and am prepared to travel a little. Does anyone have any contacts?

If you look in the back pages of Practical Poultry mag, there are (or were) several frizzle pekin breeders listed there. Also try the pekinbantams.com forum.

I got my frizzle pekins from llamatopia, which is just off the M6 near Sandbach, Cheshire. Don't know the geography involved, but her phone number is 01477 500491 if you are interested. I have had a look in the breeders directory in Practical Poultry, and there is a breeder with frizzles in Leics. called Weston Rushes poultry - 01530 263308 - which may be nearer to you? Otherwise, I would contact the Frizzle Society of GB for a list of breeders.

For Frizzle Pekin Bantams, try Karen at Merrydale Poultry in Leicester - www.merrydale.co.uk

 

We had our 'girls' from there. Its a super set up and the hens are in very good condition.

 

Unfortunately Merrydale was broken into recently and all of Karen's pure breeds were stolen. However, it may be worth contacting her to see if she will be replacing her stock of pure breeds and when they will be ready.
