OwenLdn
Hey guys, Well its been just over a month now since the hens arrived and everything seems to be going great- we started getting an egg a day a week ago- (i think from Hermione) and Cilla seems to be trying to vie for top position in the heirachy- but mostly fine- just one thing I wanted to ask. Do you guys ever get poops that look like there might have had blood around it? Im not sure how much blood as the Hemcore around it absorbs it making the poop look a little orange around the edges? But im pretty sure it was blood. Im not sure who is doing these- so not sure if its internal bleeding or a hurt bum?- but one of my hens just started laying a week ago- could it be her? Or is this a sign or bullying/health problems/ sexual maturity? I know blood is never a good sign but wanted to check if anyone else had this happen before i start worrying. Thanks Owen
Guest
have you got a pic? I suspect it's not blood as I get orangey/pinky poos (well, not me personally!) and it's due to them eating worms.

chelsea
sometimes what they eat makes their poo change colour, if it was orangey - it might be food related. I would have thought if it was blood it would be darker colour, lets hope so anyway.
ted
Sorry about the dud link... Lack of technical expertise http://www.chat.allotment.org.uk/index.php?topic=17568.0 Should have looked like this... Enjoy!
OwenLdn
Ted mate- that was an extremely useful if bizarre link. Good job no one at work saw me opening the link! Glad I wasnt eating though!
ted
I would like to reassure you that I found it sort of by accident and not hours trawling specialist sites... It is very useful and reassuring... I think Claret originally posted it somewhere on FAQ's Did you find a match? I thought it may be one of the lining ones maybe??
OwenLdn
Thats what I was thinking! It certainly wasnt the dark red as int he lower photos. Im sure thats all it was. Very interesting to see there is a poop that is very loose they do every 10 poops or so. Thanks again for your help guys Owen
