tidygirlsuk
So sorry to hear that, SusieQ . I hope the vet can make her better . You could try corrugated plastic sheets (B&Q about £6 each - you need 2 for an eglu run). That might give you more peace of mind (and keeps the rain off too!) Sorry to keep asking you questions but what did you use for that perch in the eglu run.

sandyhas3chucks
Polly didn't come back from the vets, her wing was too badly broken and there was other damage to her side. I am so upset, I just didn't realise how much she meant to me, and she was my favourite, the garden doesn't look right without her. oh poor you I lost one and felt/feel exactly the same. I did realise how much she meant, it was aways going to be hard when ever she went, just wasn't ready or expecting it. Who would ever have thught it pre chook days eh? others just don't get it do they. big hugs to you. Sandyx
blackgold
we used to have avairy birds years ago. One night a fox ripped off a cockateils leg. the bird was taken to the vets who advised PTS. we asked for antibiotics which where syringed into her beak. also painkillers. she recovered and lived another 6 years, she even had babies. This happened through the mesh as well in Summer when the birds were not confined to their roost at night. we put sensor alarms on the wall and let the dogs out when it went off. The fox only came back once and after meeting 3 border collies at 4 in the morning it changed its mind Love Sue Hope your girl is ok. Loosing a wing is bad but she will manage without it.
