A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Because I am excited about Coraline the movie coming out. Sew buttons or glue buttons onto pearlised card, and pop them in a frame. I had a rubbish old denim frame I painted with acrylic paint to freshen it up. Pretty! Although the OH thinks I've lost the plot. http://coraline.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coraline
Mrs Frugal
I like that! I love buttons and have a rather large collection. That's a lovely way to display them. Well done
Plum
Fun way to display buttons. Not sure about Coraline though think it will give me nightmares.
Minnie the Moocher
It looks good doesn't it, Chicky? Have you seen it yet? I would like to know who the voice artists are, but I can't see a cast list on the wiki page.
Plum
Did you see the size of those knitting needles. She said it took her 6 month to 2 years to knit those tiny tiny jackets. That would slow you down ChickyChicky Aren't they fabulous though.

A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Fun way to display buttons. Not sure about Coraline though think it will give me nightmares. It's funny Plum, I read Neil Gaiman's blog (he wrote the book Coraline) and he says that kids love the film and it's the parents who are all going 'GAAAARGH!!!!' with fear because of the button eyes! It's an excellent book and the film trailers and stuff on the website look like the film's been put together with such painstaking attention to detail. It looks like it's going to be jawdroppingly brilliant. V excited!

Don't think it's out on preview near me yet, and I really want to find a 3D cinema to see it in so it feels like you're IN the film. The 3D version is supposed to be superlatively wonderful. Have you tried imdb? They have good film info. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327597/
Minnie the Moocher
Ah-ha! I thought I detected the voice of Teri Hatcher as Mother/Other Mother! I notice too that her son, Emerson, is Dragonfly. I agree also that it is the adults who might find the subject matter faintly disturbing... I've already decided that my 7 yo daughter will love it. To understand that perhaps you just have to think back to when you first heard about the witch fattening up Hansel and Gretal to eat them, or the Wolf eating/dressing up as the grandmother so he can snaffle RRH... or the wolf falling down the chimney into a pot of boiling water at the end of the Three Little Pigs...!!! Which Hans Christian Andersen story has a girl as the main character who gets a piece of glass lodged in her eye?
