Been to see The Boat That Rocks. I thought it was brillant, mind you I do remember Radio Caroline

 

Took my 3 boys (all over 18) and had a great night out. They loved the music and so did I. We had fun trying to guess who the DJ on the screen were meant to be in relation to Radio Caroline. I am guessing the Count was meant to be Emperor Rosco or am I so old that only I remember them

We saw it , loved it don't remember radio caroline though hubby does vaguely. great british film tapping my feet all the way through

Bill Nighy is brilliant!! We'd love to see it but will probably end up waiting for the DVD. Sounds like an excellent film and anything Richard Curtis has to do with is usually terrific.

I remember Radio Caroline quite clearly. My Dad was a big fan, and when I got my own radio, I could just about get Radio Caroline and Radio Luxembourg, none of that Radio One stuff for me I believe that the Count is based on Emperor Rosco.

 

I will have to wait until the film comes out on video/ DVD as I am incapable of sitting still long enough to watch a film at the cinema.

I'm hoping to see this film soon but fear that it may not be on OH's list as he didn't do the 'listening to the radio under the pillow as a teenager' thing.

 

Every time 'Smashy and Nicey' played "You aint seen nothing yet" it used to take me right back to the days of Radio Luxembourg and my little red tranny
