Ain't Nobody Here
Just been out with the girls and was horrified to see one of Molly's feet looking like this .. I feel dreadful that I haven't noticed before now . It looks painful and there is a trace of blood . I've got to go out in half an hour to visit a friend in hospital (after getting the family's tea and getting myself ready to go to another friend's afterwards ) so after a quick search on the forum, I think I need Xeno 200? Where's the best (and fastest place) to get hold of it, can anyone tell me ? Is there any point in doing the vaseline treatment in the meantime? jade&mike
the vaseline treatment is very effective, starts to work immediatley, and is the only treatment i ever use for leg mite (only had to do it twice) dip the legs in surgical spirit and ten coat in vaseline. repaet in 5-7 days and that should be the last you will see of them although the leg scales will stay raised at least until the next moult and you should not try to remove them yourself. i hope this helps. abwsco
I'd wap some vaseline or sudocreme on it and also try a spot on. I used some I got from Pets at Home. It was for large birds by Beapher
Blackrocksrock
I have just done one of mine with ivermectin drops as she had the same but was not laying and still is not so easy to forget about the eggs - she was off colour and hunched up so I presume it was sore too!. I tried the vaseline last year on another chook but it was so so messy I gave up and used the drops as she was moulting too and not laying. Good luck and I am sure it will go soon. Egluntyne
Xeno 200 will sort it out. **Not licensed for use on poultry in UK and there is an egg withdrawal period.
Ain't Nobody Here
Can you get that from a vet or would I have to find it online, Egluntine?
Egluntyne
It is about £10 cheaper online.
