ali-s
There is a lovely farmhouse just down the lane further on towards the Castle that has just been turned into a holiday let. Last Friday 8 rather nice uni students from Stirling turned up in my porch and announced they had booked for a weeks stay. At first I thought it was a joke and then twigged about the farmhouse which has a very similar name to our cottage. This afternoon another lot of visitors arrived at the farmhouse. Usually I take a walk around the garden just after dark to watch the bats flying and listen to the Owls in the wood. Tonight all I can hear is Elvis Presley:twisted: blaring out from the farmhouse, they must have every window open. The music started just after they arrived. Why come for a holiday in the peaceful (except when the Tornados are flying) scottish countryside and not take advantage of the peace and quiet, the wildlife and the scenery Until recently the farmhouse was a long term rental property but the family moved out and the owners struggled to get tennants. I have been on the net and found the farmhouse advertised as a holiday let. The amount of rent the owners are asking for a weeks stay is very expensive I am not normally anti holiday makers but I can't stand Elvis Presley

chelsea
I agree with you, if they want loud music and wild nights why not head into the city or Ibiza and not to a remote idyllic cottage in scotland??? We go to the highlands every year for the reason that its peaceful, and there are no people - just wildlife!
Valkyrie
Down here we call them Grockles or Hems (pains in the bum). I think Hems applies here ah huh huh, thank you vera much. Oh I just had to do that! Until recently we had teens in a house across the way where the parents would go off galivanting several times during the year leaving them alone - partayyyyyy. Not much fun on several consecutive nights - but at least our house was angled slightly away - our next door neighbours copped the lot. Police were often requesting the sound to be turned down but as soon as they went the volume went back up. Our neighbour went and banged on their door early one morning to wake them all up and complain after one session. Even so there were a few more parties before they stopped. It was the screaming that went on too - at 3 in the morning, or fireworks. I think they have either left home or moved away now. Here's hoping the owner vets the next lot more carefully. There must be something about the laws with regard to nuisance - you shouldn't have to suffer - make notes and recordings if possible.
