This little chap (and OH!) have taken up residence right outside my kitchen window, in a nestbox atop my bird table which had been up less than a week. It's been fascinating watching them take nesting materials and moss in through the entrance, and I can't wait to see what happens next...

We've just seen next doors cat eat a newly hatched blackbird straight out the nest The nest is within easy reach of the top of the fence so if any of the other eggs hatch the chicks won't stand a chance

How afwul

 

We've had a blue tit box for years and usually have them nesting. The walk in run is now under it. We did have blue tits cleaning it out the other weekend but unfortunately a new cat in the area realised it could sit on the roof under it , so the blue tits haven't been back
