Omletina Kyckling
We had a huge storm at about 4.45 this morning, full Wagnerian electric storm with huge rolls of thunder, very impressive. The cats were trying to get under the duvet to get away from it and each time there was a rumble of thunder (these ones lasted about 5-10 seconds each) Ludwig held his breath!! We also had a hail storm. Anyway, this morning all was silent, and I mean silent....I usually hear the girls at about 6.30-7 and go out to let them out (then back to bed!) but this morning not a peep....we slept in until about 8.30 in the end and hubby let them out and still not the slightest noise. I have had three eggs so far (as usual), but will watch with interest what happens with egg production over the following days. Has anybody else had odd reactions to storms from their girls? Cinnamon
Yep, mine were all silent too - even Indiana the cockerel who is usually shouting his head off at that time!
Patricia W
well, we're between you two here in Abingdon, so now I know where the faint sounds of thunder we could hear this morning were coming from!
Kalu
Hi We are in Hertfordshire and I could hear the rumbling and see the lighting (well, for the ten minutes I could keep my eyes open!) but it wasn't very dramatic unfortunately. I love a good storm. It definitely didn't bother our girls - they were full of chat when I let them out at 7am. Hope your girls are ok, look forward to some photos of interesting eggs! Hen Watch
We heard the terrific thunder and lightning just past midnight, but not much rain??? Last year after a storm, a few days later I had two torpedo shaped eggs which were quite funny to look at.
