lou-lou Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Hi Can any one tell me where i could buy 3 bantams from, i would like a frizzle a poland and one other maybe a silkie would these all get along with each other, just for pets (not bothered about eggs) at what age should i be looking for? sorry about all these questions but have never kept chickens before, we live in Buckinghamshire but can travel,would this be a good trio for someone new to keeping chickens like myself, would love advice...... thank you once again lou-lou Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As for where to get them, you could contact Omlet for a list of recommended breeders in your area. Also, I have had a look in the Breeders Directory in Practical Poultry magazine, and there are quite a few in the Beds/Bucks/Herts listing. Bedfordshire Poultry 07949 758399 has Pekins and Silkies Buckingham Chickens 07739 047799 has Pekins Great Oak Poultry 01296 681180 has Pekins and Frizzles James Patterson 01628 481421 has Pekins Thornes 01462 675767 might be worth a try too Hope you find what you are looking for! Patricia W Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Be careful with the Polands though as their eyesight is limited by their hair do and they can be bullied by others. I'd be inclined to get a couple of Polands for company for each other- they are also very good layers and the eggs are quite big for bantam eggs. After all, 2 bantams = 1 LF..
