Chikki is still laying eggs with such thin shells they are cracked by the time we find them.

They're so nearly OK.

Boo's eggs are fine - so diet must be mostly OK.

Tried limesone flour.

Next step seemsto be Zolcal D ??

 

Where do you recommend I order this from ? (Omlet don't seem to sell it ??)

I've just bought (and received) some .

 

Did a bit of searching for prices and Vetscriptions.co.uk seemed to be the best. £5.99 plus £2.50 P&P.

 

Ordered it on 13th April, it arrived yesterday .

 

I also ordered AviPro Plus at £7.25 while I was at it. Not a very long use by date, though, annoyingly .

Hi

Since putting this in their water as directed (2tps per litre) chikki hasn't laid an egg at all !! Boo still lays every other day.

Should I stop the Zolcal D or continue ??

(Chickens - who'd have 'em - more throuble than they're worth !! (not really!!))

Have same sort of problems as you and I have been warned that too much calcium can cause problems as well so to stop the zolcalD after a course and use limestone and codliver oil in pellets couple of times a week and make sure they have green veg like greens and broccoli for vit C to help them metabolise calcium.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier Welland Valley feeds in Market Harborough sell Davinova C which is also a liquid calcium supplement (in case you need a further supply!)

Thanks Snowy. I think I've seen that but wasn't sure if it had the Vitamin D to facilitate Calcium uptake ? Do you know ??

Hmm, I always assumed it did, not sure why, but I can't find any reference to it in the product info on their website (although it is all in German!). I'll have a look next time I get some - I don't even have my own bottle to hand as it ran out the other week!
