Stina, my new Speckledy just laid her first rather beautiful egg....I had a friend here and we were out in the garden and she went into the Eglu and settled down in the nest....she kept rearranging her bedding and turning around and I said to Pam that I doubt she'll lay as she's still very young.....THEN Tiina and Åsa were getting in a strop as they wanted to lay in the cube and Britta was hogging the nest box, so they turfed Stina out.....I went over to her and she crouched so I picked her up for a cuddle then put her back in the Eglu run and shut the outer door so she could go in in peace and quiet (the others had gone elsewhere to squabble!) and as she walked into the Eglu we could see her little egg poking out of her bottom.....

 

She sat in the nest box and out it popped, a beautiful little dark speckled egg....what a clever girl! Here'a a photo of it:
