USB Microscope

Recommended Posts

Bit of a wierd one this, but still

I know there are people from all types of jobs around, have any of you seen these or even got one.

I think they're really clever, especially for use in schools in practicals so everyone can see it on the interactive board and not have to crowd around and look at the teachers microscope.

I was also thinking its a camera, with bright LED's - could it be used to candle eggs and see inside them :?:

I use one fairly often in class so that everybody can see what I am demonstrating. Then a bit later when the class are all occupied and busy, I turn it to focus on a small group and see how long it takes until somebody notices them on the screen!:lol:

I'll have to get school to buy one!

We have microscopes between 2 of us, but no-one can ever see what they're looking for and end up looking at one which is focused correctly (+ doesn't have dirty lenses ).

Do you think it would be suitable for candling eggs and looking inside in a dark room, or would you just see the egg shell :? ? I've stood in the dark and hald my candler a few cm away from the egg and it still works.

Hi.

Do you think this would be suitable to candle eggs in a dark room, and take photos of the developing chicks, or would you just see the pores of the egg?

I've candled my eggs in the dark with the light a few cm away and you can still see the inside of the egg.

Hope you can help

Have a look at this one.

That's what I got, it looks much better than the others, 230X zoom instead of 200X, 8 LED's instead of 4, and its the cheapest. Some of the others don't come with stands aswell.

It was £28.36 for the actual thing with free P&P but I payed a bit more.

The man works in US dollars, it was $43 for the microscope with an optional $3 for postal insurance or $10 send it through "EMS" which only takes 7 days as opposed to up to a month. I paid the extra, so it was $53 (£35) and it should get here in 7 days. Still cheaper than Maplins and most on ebay :D

I have to say his communication has been really good and although it hasn't arrived yet, he's been great so far.

:anxious: NERD :anxious:
