Thanks to Egluntine for the heads up on this one...following the resounding success of the Sheffield course I am planning on going to the Preston one on 26th September. Would be good to see other Omleteers there....the link is at http://www.chickenkeeper.co.uk. Still a bit nervous about the actual brooming but very curious about the whole process and loving the idea of the end result!

When I was dispatching my chicken I found I was really concentrating on the job in hand,to cause the least suffering to the bird, & was not nervous at all on the day, unlike in the days leading up to the course.

 

My frind B is going to dispatch his Indian Game hen in a couple of weeks & has asked for my help in doing so

Yes I have! Thanks for the reassurance - not squeamish, just anxious to get it right for the chicken. But I have months to wait which is the biggest present challenge!

Sue, click on the link at the top of this thread. It's 26th September in Preston, I am on the 2pm course but they run from 11am and are a couple of hours long. £57 each.

I was nervous before going on the Sheffield course, but it was fine on the day. There is too much to concentrate on, and to do to have time for nerves on the day.
