Auboise as fertilizer?

Recommended Posts

I used to think you couldnt use it but there was a bit in Gardeners Question Time on Friday about this and they said that you really shout rot it down first then it can be used on any plant but in the absence of a composting bin or heap it could be used 'neat' on established large shrubs and trees (but don't let it touch the trunk) but not on young or small plants and certainly not on veggies or seedlings

If you use woodchips as a bedding I would definitely let it rot down as the chippings will take the nitrogen from the earth to help it rot and will starve the plant of nitrogen
