Formation of a chick in egg (a bit blood and gunk)

Recommended Posts

Didn't actually think until afterwards how they got the pictures :? someone was saying you could get chicks to get as far as hatching in a petri dish with special covering but..... someone else pointed out on the site that the chicks looked different ones in a few pictures - not sure. Would hate to think they had been opened on successive days just for the photos :(

Me & the boys have just awwwed at all the pictures.

I do suspect that the eggs were cracked open each day, & that chicks lost their lives for them though :(

At the James Herriot museum in Thirsk they have something similar . I saw it about 10 years ago, & I thought it sad at the time, even thuogh I had no idea then I would become a chicken keeper.

Thanks, Phosphorus for these.

Sad but,

I will keep these for my grandson they are very educational.

He named one of our hens "Sabre" ...( Huh, you can laugh, my husband called his KYLIE :!: )

and it would be great for him to see where she came from.

My husband called his ROAST :( she hasn't made it to the pot yet and doubt she ever will :D
