Jennyhenny
Hi all, Holly my Gingernut Ranger lays almost everyday now with the odd one day off - small but perfectly formed My two Miss Pepperpots seem to take it in turn to lay every other day. When do you think the Pepperpots will lay everyday (obviously they may miss one the odd day). They have been laying approx 3/4 weeks now. I do get the occasional double yolker though cos of this - yum yum Jennyhenny
Cluckin Belle
Hi i got my hens in march and by 9th april they had started laying sporadically but for the last two weeks my magpie has laid every day 14 days straight, and she is supposed to be the hen that lays the least amount of eggs. My babcock lays for approx 8, has a day off and starts to lay again but the amber only lays every other day, she struts around and as top hen in seems to be to busy to lay. i think they are still young and maybe this laying business will settle down over the summer. well thats what i'm hoping
Ain't Nobody Here
I shouldn't think it'll be too long. They do take a few weeks to get into the swing of things .
Space Chick
I know the feeling. Sarah-Jane is my trooper laying every day. Rose is laying every other. Martha has laid 3 eggs, but nothing for a week apart from a softee Donna nothing! I've had to buy more eggs this week! Maybe I should be more patient. ali-s
I have been keeping Hens for four years and I have never had a full house egg day. There is always a chicken who is having a day off, or in a moult, or broody, or in the winter months the bantams were having a holiday. Bantambabe
Took my girls a while to get going, the first one laid on halloween and it was 21st nov before all three laid. Then they did have a winter break of about a month and then a broody phase where I had to shut them out of the eglu to stop them nesting - but they are back in full swing again now and I've had 20 eggs from the 3 of them in the past week (ie only 1 missing) - not bad for bantams eh?
