BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
my 8 month old tibetan terrier has attacked one of the chickens today, and given her feathers a right good ripping out, and throwing her about the garden the dog has been grounded! and the omlet netting is now up. chicken has gone in the coop tonight sitting in the nest box, she seems a little shaken but is joined by one of the others. i've had a good look at her, there are no puncture wounds that i can see, however she looks a little raw in places. any other recommendations welcome. Egluntyne
Sorry to hear it. How about some Bach's Rescue Remedy to help her over the shock and a squirt of purple spray on her wounds so that the other hens don't investigate them.
AnnieP
Oh dear, poor thing! Sounds like you have done the best thing to check her all over thoroughly, and if all seems well, the best place for her to be is back with all her chums. Just keep an eye on her. These things happen unfortunately. Hope she is ok.
Ain't Nobody Here
What a shame . Thank goodness she doesn't seem badly hurt .
tania
Our youngest dog got Martha a couple of months ago and pulled all her tail feathers out. We used purple spray for a week whilst the feathers started to grow back and her back healed. Now she's fine, doesn't even look twice at the monster who caused her to loose her beautiful plumage, and is laying double yolkers like a good 'n. Watch out for the others pecking at her. BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
she's acting normal today - i will get some purple spray in the morning, thought it doesn't seem too bad today and the others have not been pecking at her. i was thinking about diluted tea tree, but wasn't sure so didnt put it on
