Olly
Another Bravissimo girl here - they are so helpful and patient, and really really good at sizing. I have just today been to the Oxford St store and bought a gorgeous red cotton jacket - and it fits perfectly, no straining over the boobs, and not too big on the waist and too long in the sleeve because it's really too big ... I desperately want to go back and try on one of their dresses but I can't justify it this month! Their bras are fab, and there's no feeling of 'supersize' or 'heavy-duty construction' about them. Willow
I like their PJ's - finally I can look decent if staying overnight with friends I did buy a couple of their strappy tee-shirts but concluded spaghetti straps are just not me
Minnie the Moocher
Don't get measured on a Saturday. You are more likely to be measured by someone with less experience as the shop will be busier.
quickcluck
Has "Ooops, word censored!"ody tried Rigby and Peller??? They are fab and no tape measure required. More importantly they don't always cost a fortune!
Willow
I think I posted about them on a previous bra discussion. Years ago I went to them to be fitted for a bra I was pregnant with my eldest (before Bravissimo). Came out with a well fitted bra that was so ugly I cried as I paid for it and cried my way out of the shop past all the pretty little lacy numbers... They wouldn't bring me anything else other than that one bra. Perfect fit but I've never seen such an ugly bra in my life.
Sheilaz
Has "Ooops, word censored!"ody tried Rigby and Peller??? They are fab and no tape measure required. More importantly they don't always cost a fortune! Yes, I was really impressed the first time. However, on my 2nd visit I just wanted a sports bra. The assistant checked my size from previous visit and expected me to buy one without trying, saying I could rely on the size from the previous fit. I felt awkward for insisting I should try it, but I did need a different size! Obviously different makes & styles can be different, her advice had been plain wrong & rushed (it wasn't a w/e). Would recommend getting an appointment, otherwise it can be 90 mins wait at an apparently quiet time! Not keen after that. Reputation can turn either way because of one good or bad assistant. Years back, Contessa couldn't find a single bra that fitted me, I felt wretched and odd shaped. Yet, I'm average size. (Thought 34C, really 32D) But seem to have uncomfortable ribs, breastbone, esp. with most underwires. The good R & P. bras have been fine, & yes, 1st visit was great, but I'll try Bravissimo next time to compare.
quickcluck
They have a local one at Bluewater now and very pretty bras!
AJuff
I decided to go and get measured for new bras after i read this post. It is a job I've put off as I'm always too busy working full time or have three kids in tow. I don't have the time to go into Newcastle to Bravissimo and thought I'd shop locally at our very nice underwear shop. I poooped out at lunch time yesterday and having always thought I was a 36C I measured up at a 34FF. I bought six new bras and feel like a new woman!!!! Thanks for the thread. Jules.
I bought 2 new bras from ASDA yesterday. Cost me £4.98 I didn't get measured, I just tried on loads to see what fitted, while hubby waited patiently & filled the trolley with extra stuff we didn't really need, so the bras didn't turn out to be so much of a bargain after all The size is totally different to what I have been wearing, & I won't post the size here I'm hoping to *ahem* decrease so I only got 2 bras as they should need replacing soon
