tiggerlady
Just a thought...if you were to put a rabbit in a wooden ex-chook run, would the rabbit get redmite if there were any there left from the chooks? Is it a blood thing or just a 'we only eat birds' thing? If we get an eglu I reckon OD would want a bunny or two in the country cottage we ve got the girls in. Im sure theres no mite there at the mo,by the way..Your thought would be appreciated.
The Dogmother
Yes, the buns would get bothered by the mites, but not to the extent that birds do. I'll stick this in the bunny section where it will be seen by more bunny owners
littleleicesterfox
I must admit that I'd never heard of redmite until I got an eglu! My bunnies have been outside in a wood run for years now and, althpugh I'm not 100% sure what redmite looks like if they are a thing that comes from wild birds then we'll have them as we have a flock of starlings which regularly come and de-grub our garden. There's never been any irritation from mites for our buns
