speckled hen
Hi I have just been out to check the girls over and found Mabel hiding in the nest box when I picked her up she had what can only be described as a snotty mucus with blood in it down her nose/beak. I wiped it away, no sign of injury. Should I be concerned? Last night was the first night together for the 3 newbies (Mabel, Marrigold and morag) Morag has been pecked on her nose, small graze. I was dreading this but have done slow introductions and they took themselves off to bed last night with the other 4 so I left them. Should I seperate them again or give myself a word, stop been a wimp and get on with it ??
The Dogmother
She could have bene pecked, but if you've been able to clean all the mess off, I'd pop her back in and keep a good eye on what happens.
stoice
Could she have been pecking one of your other girls? (ie: the blood wasn't hers)
milwichchickenlover
I'd say keep an eye on her. My hens picked on our cockerel and they were all bought together! If it carries on I'd seperate them again and try again later in the week. Good luck!
