How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Last year I used a fly trap that attaches to the top of a milk bottle. I thought I'd use it again this year but have no bait refill. Someone on here suggested something to put in it as an attractant but I can't remember what it was and I can't find the link. Can anyone advise?

On another chicken site someone mentioned using an empty plastic milk carton, leaving the lid on and drilling some holes along the outside of the carton, then filling it with vinager and sugar mixed with a bit of water.

 

I just wanted to share with all of you that I have tried this and it works a treat. The fly population has decreased (loads of flys in the bottle) and the honey bees are not affected because of the vinager. Not to mention the oder isn't as horrific as the traditional type of flitraps.

At the moment I have just started up a Red Top trap - fortunately I can't smell anything . . . yet. Also I have lots of strips of old school shirt soaked in citronella. Our flies are very unusual - they seem to love the citronella instead of going away. The worst of it is that they are attracted to our Purbeck stones (the flies were around before the chickens arrived, but then there are lots of pigeons that poo everywhere too) - I think it is the salty seaweedy odour that they give off, or maybe the heat attracts them. I rather like the idea of the sugar and vinegar too, so will have a go at that if the Red Top starts to get revolting or doesn't work. Well done AJuff and thankies Mark.
