Ex batts - food

Recommended Posts

Can someone just clarify for me that as ex batts need to be kept on layers mash for a while after rehoming, does the mash have to have water added to it (as I've done previously with 'normal' girls) or does it get fed to them dry? Seems a silly question but obviously vital. Thanks.

Initially we had the ex batts food in galley pots as they couldn't manage the the grub due to the size of their combs and after a week or so, instead of 4 pots of mash we would do 3 mash and 1 pellets, then 2 & 2, 3 & 1 etc, we also put the grub in for them to get used to it. So in a couple of weeks they were on pellets.

Once they started to use the grub, we reduced the amount of galley pots, so eventually they were just using the grub.

:D
