Chooks Aloud
I have now started wearing a mask when applying Diatom to the eglu - should I also wear gloves too? I just apply it with my bear hands, rubbing it into the bars etc.
Nicola H
I don't think you have to wear gloves, but the mask is a good idea..............I have been using Diatom for over a year and have never worn gloves I don't find it irritates or causes any rashes. feemcg
I got some Diatom this morning but havn't used it yet. Having read all the posts about it going everywhere I wondered if it was possible to apply it using a brush - soft paint brush, blusher brush kind of thing or a powder puff. Anyone used these? Laura & CTB
Paint brush idea sounds like it might be worth a try - I think a blusher brush might not be "tough" enough to get it into all the little crevices in the roosting bars. Expect a bit of a mess whatever you do I dusted my girls over for the first time last night but I think I got more over CTB (OH) than the chooks.
