I found this in on the roosting bar today!!! It's a hard egg completely covered with with a rubber like substance. I think it's come from one of the marans because of it's colour, she must be the one who has been passing kormas for two days? What's going on?? help!!!!!

Mind you, seeing the horrors that my hens love to munch on throughout the day, I think this 'egg' is more like what you'd expect them to produce!

Euw !! I'm sure I read on here somewhere they can sometimes lay an egg within an egg, maybe it's that kind of thing?

Well I washed it and peeled away the layer of YUK. It was like a latex glove!! Inside the egg was normal but we haven't the stomach to eat it!!!!!

It looks a bit like a normal egg, then with a softy type shell encasing it.
