Do bumper bits come in different sizes? I'm sure I read somewhere that they did but I asked the people at Wernlas and they said not.

 

The reason I'm asking is that one of our girls pulls hers forward with her feet somehow, despite being fitted properly and pushing it right into her nose. Her nose hole is really long so the bit moves forward quite noticeably. If we could get a smaller one I think it would help.

I've only ever seen them in one size, but different makes seem to be slightly different, so it's worth looking around. Also some bumper bits are made out of harder plastic than others so you may find that these are more dificult for her to pull off.

They come in three sizes, dictating their length. 25mm, 30mm and 35 mm. I bought some as a job lot from here: http://www.patrickpinker.com/index.asp?ID=152

They seem to be made of stiffer plastic than the ones I've had previously from Wernlas. I opted for the 30mm ones which are slightly bigger then the Wernlas variety. I've had non come off despite the girls trying really hard!

You need the 25mm ones.

 

I once accidentally got the larger ones and they are humungous....it turns out they are for large roosters.

My girls must have really long beaks, the 30mm ones fit them ok

An expensive bumpa bit fitter that one is. My OH uses a pair of pointy pliers!!! Does the job very well and he's a dab hand at it now!!

Yes....the points are very fine though.
