Chicken boarders

I've posted on here (you may have seen) about our Chicken Snowflake and her suddenly inability to stand up.

 

It's happened before, after a day or two she is as right as rain again.

 

So, last night, put her to bed in the pet carrier in our Utility Room. Didnt put the front "door" on it, because from previous experience she has been unable to move well into the following day anyway.

 

But our baby obviously made a recovery, and got out of the Pet Carrier when she noticed it was light this morning.

 

Tragically, when I came downstairs about 6.15am, she had died after our step ladder fell on her.

 

I heard a noise about 5am, thought I had dreamt it, or it might have been the kids going to the loo, or even magpies outside clattering around on the roof (as they do)

 

We are gutted here. Our baby was obviously better and this went and happened.

 

So, I am sorry to everyone including myself for NOT putting the door on the Pet Carrier.

 

And we never did find out what her problem was!

So sorry to hear about Snowflake Try not to beat yourself up about it, difficult I know, but it was a genuine accident. RIP Snowflake.
