This morning, Ginger - our famous double yolker laying chook- laid a double yolker. A paper thin-shelled softie double yolker .

 

This is her first softie and we've got her some calcium grit now, so I don't need any help or anything. Just thought it might be interesting to start a discussion about it !

Our black rock Darcy has laid four double yolkers in a row now! I think she's going through the henopause.

One of my ex batts (who lays on a pile of rocks not in a nest!) always lays a double yolker! Always a lovely pinky shell as well!

 

Maybe the cold rocks on her bum do her some good
