We also have a cardboard box with many holes and again straw. Will this be okay? What do we do with them once we get home, straight in the run or in the house? If your pet carrier isn't covered i'd take something to throw over it as they will snooze in the dark on the journey home! People do all sorts of things when they can them home. personally I just put them in the run, they have always found their way to bed when it's time... Good luck, dont forget the pics! They are so prettty the lady said to leave them in the house overnight so they can settle in and then let them out tomorrow morning. When we got them, the bluebelle, warren/isa brown and the black rock were fine getting into the boxes to be taken home, little fuss. However the other black rock made a terrible screeching noise, she is healthy as we checked but shes incredibly vocal. When we put her in the house at home the others were all in first and went with no fuss whatsoever but she flapped about flying all over the place. I know shes had alot of stress moving etc but will this change and will she calm down? Any advice to help her settle in better? The first one out was Martha the bluebelle, she eats so much, and shes actually a little chubby already, i'll have to watch her.. Then came Lottie the black rock, she has a full comb + bright waxy wattles so she'll be laying soon i think? ( Btw, her comb flops over to one side.. is this alright? ) Then came Rhonda the tiny little Isa brown, shes being bullied a bit by the others but i think she'll be okay And then theres evie the one who had the hard time and was stressed but now is absolotuley fine i love my hens very much, even after just one day.
