Cinnamon Posted June 14, 2009 Share Posted June 14, 2009 My white star SweetPea has always had slightly odd looking feathers on her 'throat' - they looked sort of greasy & wet. Then she lost them in the same area, & had a bald patch. Then she started laying softies, then after a couple of weeks,stopped laying altogether... The feathers are now growing back. Now, she is in great health apart from this - bright & perky & very fast! She has been wormed & I Ivomec them all every 3 months, the last time being about 3 weeks ago. Any ideas what it could be? It is not liscenced for use on poultry in the Uk though, but a fair few of us do use it & it works really well. peggotty Posted June 16, 2009 Share Posted June 16, 2009 One of my hens has a greasy-looking patch on her neck feathers, and I thought I'd read on here that it was because of some gland?? Like hamsters get that little damp patch on their flanks. But I am not sure - I could easily have just made it up - my OH always says I either imagine or forget whole conversations!!
