bluekarin
We are looking at getting a new lawnmower. Our lawn is quite small so we were looking at hover ones. Has anyone got/used a Flymo Turbo lite 330? I was wondering what it was like. I was originally looking at ones around £30, but they have plastic blades and wouldn't last 5 minutes in our garden. But the one I mentioned above has metal blades.
Olly
I've got this Qualcast model and I've been very happy with it, my main requirement was that it's light enough for me to carry. It has metal blades, the construction of the whole thing isn't very robust but I've had it for two years and nothing's broken or dropped off. missuscluck
I have a b and q cheepo mower. I have had it for 8 years. I think it cost something like £40 at the time. It is still going now although a little tierd. Hubby had just bought a petrol mower to replace it.
redhotchick
I've got the same one as Olly and I'm very happy with it. See this thread from last year. (You have to get past the bit about Crocs first) viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28592&hilit=lawn+mower
majorbloodnock
In all honesty, I was of the opinion that pretty much anything'll do for a small lawn. However, we changed direction a bit when our last mower finally died, since we heard about mulching mowers. We got a Wolf Garten mower in particular, but there are plenty of other good alternatives around. Basically, the idea is that, instead of collecting the cuttings and chucking them on a compost heap, the mower is designed to chuck the bits of grass around internally so they're chopped really small before being blown down to the roots of the grass. There, because they're so small, they decompose quickly and feed the grass that's left. Moss is choked out, grass ends up healthier and greener and there's no waste to have to find a home for. Mulching mowers are a bit more expensive, because they need to be more powerful, but I've decided they're good value for all that.

We've got this mower and it has served us well ( 3 years so far and still going strong). We've got a small garden really but the mower has taken a fair battering from being lugged in and out of the shed etc. I'd recommend it (but I'm after a qualcast panther now because I'm fed up of the electric wire!)
