Lesley
Egluntine asked for the recipe............ There isn't a recipe as such, I usually throw in whatever we have I use pre-cooked lasagne sheets and the smoked garlic comes from the market, ordinary garlic is fine. The following amounts will serve four as long as there are some extra veg/salad/garlic bread. I make one and a half pints of fairly runny white sauce and add grated cheese. Save some grated cheese for the top. Fry off the sliced mushrooms - I use about 15 fairly large mushrooms and do them in two batches. Gently fry the garlic in the mushroom pan and then add back all the mushrooms and mix well. I often add any leftover veg at this stage, broccoli works well and so does roasted fennel, leeks or courgette. Put a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a large dish - about 12" x 7" Place lasagne sheets on the sauce. Spread all the mushrooms and veg over the pasta and cover with sauce, leaving some sauce for the top. Cover with another layer of lasagne sheets Cover with the remaining sauce Sprinkle with grated cheese I leave mine to stand for an hour or as long as possible - it softens the pasta. Put into oven at 180C for about 45 mins until pasta is cooked and cheese is golden . Serve with salad Edited October 31, 2006 by Guest
