MedusA
We're really chuffed at my allotments as we've been asked by our local council to be part of the Britain in Bloom competition. We won the Allotment Association prize last year for the most improved allotment site in the whole of Birmingham, so we need to prove we're not just a flash in the pan. Think of us on 17th July. Lots of hard work to do before that though. Edited to add - I forgot to link to the website. http://courtlaneallotments.com/
Redwing
Good luck! Love the chicken tombola idea from the open day were those your girls?
MedusA
No, they were my friend's girls. I had a separate stand selling free-range eggs, giving out Omlet and BHWT posters and leaflets and had my two Silkies in a temporary run. Unfortunately the rain was torrential at times, so they spent most of the day cowering in their temporary nestbox shivering. Wusses! At the Autumn Fair they were much better behaved and Muggle even laid and did her "I'VE LAID AN EEEEEEEEGGGGGG" announcement, much to the amusement of the visiting public. Lewis
I don't live too far from there (well, a 2 hour walk going via tesco, I've done it before ) and I didn't know those allotmens existed and I was round the corner that weekend, at Highbury Theatre. I knew there were some over the road - the ones you can see from the train. The chicken tombola looks like a really good idea! Let us all know when the next open day is

MedusA
I know the Highbury well, Lewis. DD has performed there in the past. Egluntine, I am in at least one of the pics. I'm the slightly soggy person in the X-Files cap stacking egg boxes. We we will probably repeat the Autumn Fair, so any interested local Omleteers are welcome to come along and meet some of my girls. It would be lovely to meet you.

The little boy eating a hot dog looks so like my YS at a similar age that I had to do a double take!
