Ness3103
Skye's laid her second egg today and there was a massive, really stinky poo in the nest box. it was so bad when i took it out i almost then tia did one right by my feet. i have a terrible sense of smell and often ask people if my wir smells, which it doesn't (unless they're being polite) but these poos are really bad is this normal? Redwing
Yes its normal but if you go back five mins later they don't smell as bad for some reason (that could be that the initial poo burned the lining out of your nose though and your sense of smell has gone to pot!) My Eglu is in a WIR and so I reach through the front door to collect eggs (as never got round to putting a hatch in) and every now and again I will grab a big egg shaped poo Its part of the wonderous journey that is having hens
clucky h
Redwing: a big egg shaped poo There's no better way to start the day, is there?
Olly
Try adding powdered garlic to the feed - it does cut the smell down.
Barkisland
In my experience, those GREAT BIG stinkypoos are a sign that my Lt Sussex is about to go broody again...
Steph101
Have you tried bokashi bran and garlic powder in the feed? Helps reduce smells.
Sarahsausage
Don't most creatures do stinky poos at times!?
