Porkypie
Hello. I thought my Bluebelle was only 18weeks but she laid a softie 3 days ago and a small egg yesterday. Can they start this early or is she likely to be 20weeks+?
Newmarcell
Hi PorkyPie, I think I'm right in saying that POL is classed as any hen beyond 14 weeks. Our Ranger laid at 16 weeks, but the rest of our hens have been 20weeks+. 18 weeks is quite a normal age for your hen to lay at. It may take her a few weeks to get into the swing of laying 'properly' though. Hope this helps, Newmarcell
ubereglu
POL is often at about 16-18 weeks, at this time of year hens come into lay a bit earlier due to the long days.
