chooklady
My good deed for the day has been to rescue a Bull Finch from my neighbour's house after her cat had caught it. I believe they are on the RSPB's endangered list so I am feeling quite chuffed that I managed to save it. Luckily it was uninjured and after a drop of water and a rest and a perch on top of my kitchen blind it whizzed off into the woodland at the bottom of my garden. Old Speckled Hen
Oooooooooh a loveley male Bullfinch Aren't they a gorgeous colour I have a pair that visit my garden to annihilate the fruit tree blossom in the spring. I net off the apples and damsons but they are welcome to the huge ornamental cherry. They strip all the flowers buds, the little B................s They mate for life and you always find them in pairs so you have probably saved his mate too. Well done
chooklady
I've definately seen a pair around over the last few years, mainly in the autumn eating the red berries from my honeysuckle. He was gorgeous. When I first went to rescue him I couldn't make out what he was because all I could see in the dark corner behind the toilet was his bright chest, had to get a torch and then realised what he was. Lovely smart little bird.

Seagazer
Oh well done, I'm glad it survived. We rescued a blue tit from Dave's clutches last week but unfortunately it died shortly afterwards.
