house-elf
I've only had my hens for 3 days now, they are 20 weeks, and today for possibly the first time, I saw one looking quite comfy in the nest box - could this be a sign that she is getting ready to lay ? I know its still possibly abit early as the breeder said it maybe a week or two before they lay due to being in a new home and settling down, but could it be a sign ??? I just can't wait for the first egg !
Snowy
From your pics they certainly look ready to lay - nice red combs and wattles Wonder what the eggs will be like?
house-elf
Well, I have had my first egg, so maybe it was a sign ! Think was Florrie as Betty seems to be having abit of a moult and I read that that my don't tend to lay when growing new feathers as all their energy goes into that !?! Brilliant, its so exciting ! house-elf
It's a lovely feeling isn't it?! What you gonna do with said egg? My husband wants to see it, then it will be eaten by me but most likely my youngest son as he is an egg monster and can't get enough of them !
