chocolateeclaire
Hi Guys, Tried the anti pecking spray it has stopped the others from pecking at her feathers but the problem is that as soon as we spray her now she goes crazy and starts pecking out her own feathers!!!! She is also doing a better job than the others did!!!! What do I try now?? They are all on the high protein feed they have a pecking block and lots of treats and they have started being allowed out into the garden when we are around. Look forward to some advice. The Dogmother
Bumper bits are the way to go. I've just fitted a friend's 5 hens with them and they stopped pecking straight away - well, they still try but can't get hold of the feathers!. chickencam
One of my girls used to peck out her own feathers and from the other hens too and I reduced the problem a lot by fitting her with a bumper bit, I think in the end she had done it for so long that the fluffy feathers on her bottom never really grew back.
