millymollymandy Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 I need some ideas from you crafty people I am going to a friends hen party (not the chicken kind!!) at Ascot races and the bride to be has decided that we all need to wear a 'hobby craft inspired hat'. I have no idea what to wear as I am not the most crafty of people I even have a scalf I tried to knit two years ago unfinished in a box somewhere Any ideas would be great as I am a bit stuck for ideas as chicken keeping isn't really hobby craft although I suppose a couple of my girls feathers stuck on an old hat could be better that nothing maybe Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fizzle Knit Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Could you somehow use the unfinished scarf, together with the remaining ball of wool, and a pair of (preferably large) knitting needles stuck into it - to form the hat? Feathers, ribbon, netting and a straw base and off you go. I like scrunching ribbon into spirals and sewing that over hats too. Or felt flowers - they're lovely and easy.
