chicks meet the dog amazing picture & surprising result!

Recommended Posts

As well as five chickens, seven chicks, one pony, two lizards and a massive cat i have a huge staffordshire bull terrier called chunk. he really lives up to his name!!! the chicks and mum have been allowed a supervised free range for the last few days, before which our dog was locked in the house. he is fine with my bigger girls but has taken far too much interest in the chicks for me to risk letting him out with them. anyway today my daughter let the chicks out without telling me and the dog got into the garden. i was expecting my broody Beauty to get really defensive and chunk to eat one of the chicks... boy was i surprised!!!!! he actually started rounding the chicks up!!! any time one wandered too far away from beauty, chunk chased it back!!! eventually beauty flew up onto the top of her pen and left chunk to chick-sit while she had a good pruning session!!! i have a picture and a video but don't know how to put the video or a link to it on site?

here's the picture:

our staffie is very long suffering and tolerant with our spiteful chickens but I think even he would draw the line at chick sitting

staffies do get quite a bad rep. i think they are brilliant chunk is my first i usually have border collies but they need a lot of work and hubby doesn't like them. chunk is a star and has put up with many rabbits and four kids as well as the afore mentioned pets we have at the moment. Beauty must trust him 100% with the chicks as she looked relieved when chunk took over! at least when she gets fed up of them they will have a surrigate mum to take over and protect them from the neighbours many cats!!! as for my cat he is too fat and lazy to be of any concern :D

Sign in to Youtube, in the top right hand corner in yellow it says 'upload'. Follow the instructions and once it's uploaded you can copy the link to over here. I too have made the mistake of filming sideways and there's no way of fixing it

Actually, that's not the case. It is possible to 'rotate' video using Microsoft Movie Maker, which is a free component of Windows Vista. I can do this for you if you like, drop me a PM and I'll take you through the next steps.

If you would like to try yourself, see this Microsoft article.

There's a YouTube video that shows you how

.

oh bless!

my dogs are soft as..... grease!

i am still cautious but they only lick and stare at anything we have had hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, chicks, hens....

No intention of testing them with children though! lol

i think your right out of all of my pets and the four kids i know which are the quietest, cheapest, cleanest, easiest to feed .......!
