Ebay Help Please!

Recommended Posts

I have sold my first ever thing on ebay - my old (2 months old) incubator

Someone has bought it as buy it now and its showing on the summary page as sold

please could an ebay experienced person tell me..

How do I know its paid for? my paypal account says it shows historical transactions only, does that mean the ladys payment hasnt reached it yet?

Can I transfer the payment back in to my bank account from paypal? does that mean I have to leave some in paypal for ebay to take their fees?

I dont know the name and address to send it to - I am obviously missing something but I cant see it!

Do I wait for payment before I despatch?

I was really proud of myself for first listing then selling the incubator and it didnt occur to me that I didnt know what to do then!

Wait! You will receive a message in your myebay (and an email copy) when they have paid. Only then contact re collection/posting. The message will also give the address to send it too.

It takes a few days to transfer money out of paypal to a bank account - a bit of a hassle. You don't have to leave any in for fees. You will get an email bill from ebay and can then pay via paypal. If there are no funds in paypal, it will draw them from your linked bank account.

:lol: I'm being too impatient then! I am not the most patient person that ever lived

Thanks for that, thats a great help!

I am desperate to get my hands on my £33 as I spent over £100 in B&Q this evening on wood for my next chicken run

Skint again

That is right, but its only 25p, so not a huge amount if you do withdraw less than £50.

We tend to keep a balance in our paypal account, for ebay 'emergencies' that we need to buy!

You will be informed when they pay, & be sent all their details.

It will - echeques are a pain!

You can tweak your paypal setting so that you don't accept echeques, as IMHO they are not worth the bother. The last one I had took 14 days to clear

Don't be tempted to post it until its cleared though...................

and only post it to the address she has on paypal because if there's a problem, paypal won't refund you if you've sent it to a different address. Make sure you get a receipt of posting from the PO.

HI

Usually I add on that I will only post out item once funds are clear, most ebayers are really genuine we had one problem selling a sports car and it was a fraudulant buyer but it was picked up straight away...if you are buying always look at their feedback rating before bidding.

Dont leave feedback until you have the money too, ebay will prompt you with step by step etc

Once you get use to it very addictive (like omlet)

My sister buys all her baby boden clothes off ebay!

I would add that it's probably worthwhile contacting the buyer to say:

Thanks very much for purchasing my incubator and for initiating payment. Not sure if you are aware, but Echeques take a while to clear. I;ll ship the item as soon as its cleared, and I'll email you again to let you know its on its way. Thanks again

That way, she will be aware (if she isn't already) about the delay, and she won't end up leaving you a poor despatch time score.
