lyd119
Hi all, just wondering how much a 25 kg bag of mixed grit would last 4 hens, all hybrids. Thanks, Lydia
Ain't Nobody Here
A heck of a long time, is my guess . (It won't go off, so I suppose it doesn't matter how much you buy!)
alet_chicken
As a point of comparison, I have 9 hens and just recently finished 1.5kg bag of grit that had been around for (at least) 3 months. My chickens free range a lot though, so I'm sure they pick their own grit up in their travels.
Redwing
My 19 get through less than a kilo a month between them
Milly
We just bought a 25 kilo bag, so I will probably be able to tell you in a few year's time But as ANH says, it doesn't go off - and it's much cheaper in a big bag. Milly
xScrunchee
I bought a huge sack of flint grit and a huge sack of oyster shell about 2 and 1/2 years ago and we have probably used a quarter or less of each. So, about 10 years to get through both?? Bargain as each sach was about £5 or so.
